I thought I was visiting an author's website, but — whoosh — suddenly I was in dark room talking to the cleaner who told me he was the Keyholder, and he didn't know much more…

Here's what happens. You click. STAGE DOOR. It's there in the menu. You tried it once. It seemed a bit unfinished so you closed the screen and headed for the news headlines instead, or turned off your phone and carried on cleaning out the fridge.

You come back. You click.

Still dark.

Who's this? The Keyholder?

He apologises. He nearly knocked you over apparently. Cleaning the floor.

And then as your eyes adjust to the light you spot the direction to the lift.

But that seems premature.

You hang around a little longer, and he mentions other things.

An Architect.

Rooms.

A building site.

And before long you're faced with choices. (One of them involves finishing the fridge-cleaning. But you put a pin in that one.) Choices such as:

LIFT?

ARCHITECT'S OFFICE?

COFFEE HOUSE?

BUILDING SITE?

Or turn back, of course, because after all you only came here to find out what this author was doing these days.

(Her blog posts were — well, strange. Some of them at least.)

So of course you clicked —

But which?

LIFT

Three options.

Only one of them is for coffee.

ARCHITECT

Plans. A safe.

A roof garden?!

I know.

COFFEE

Wow. Okay.

A waiter.

A specials board.

Stories to listen to.

BUILDING SITE

Now, this!

Something quite special.

You'd have to see it in person though.

On paper, it's like there's nothing to see there.

Follow the story by making your choice.
