The Big Scheme of Things, and "NOW"

I wonder sometimes, if all this (life) is about understanding the big picture.
Quite often I wonder that. If we're here to get to grips with the meaning of life.
And then I wonder if all this (life) is really about
navigating
where we've all landed in the big picture.
I'm wondering that now.
Hmm. (That's me, wondering.)
Yes. Okay. But, it's the same thing, isn't it?
Or you do both together?
Or one helps you understand the other, or something?
I mean, if you'd pressed pause on February 19 1367, you wouldn't be dealing with all this, would you.
On that date, where I'm sitting here, they might have been dealing with —
the aftermath of the black death,
economic upheaval,
getting ready for spring.
But not — paperwork, screens, fuel prices.
Sort of the same, but not really.
Except —
Theology. Philosophy. Technology. Education. Language. The Environment. Social Care.
Yeah, it's all the big picture isn't it, really.
Where we've landed is like an illustration, wherever we are on the map or the time line.
Contingent, frictional, inconvenient — all still the big picture on pause.
This matters. I really think so.
