The KEYHOLDER's INVITATION
Inside Chapter Seventeen
Welcome to the Keyholder's invitation.
Â
Your own key.
Your own mop and bucket.
Â
From here your role changes.

Like a theatre-goer you'll experience more of the space.
Like a live-in resident you'll invest in the homecoming.

And like the Keyholder himself,
you'll help the casual visitor hold the thought:

This isn't filmed in a studio in front of an audience.
Â
This is live.
What free membership opens up
Membership is a way of seeing what is happening in Chapter Seventeen — and of finding your own way into it, as it continues to unfold.
Free membership opens the door. Some invitations are also free to take up; others may involve a booking fee, application or contribution.
Newsletter updates

Workshops and Retreats
In Chapter Seventeen there is an expanding calendar of participatory events, from workshops and retreats to collaborative opportunities and festivals that members may apply to join.

Rooms that open
From time to time, particular rooms within Chapter Seventeen open for a conversation or activity: a Cellar Bar conversation, a Green Room rehearsal, a discussion among residents, or something else that has emerged.

These spaces may be temporary, opening for a particular group or period and closing when the gathering is over.

Treehouse
Book a short stay of a week or two in the Treehouse, with opportunities for conversation and participation while you establish your own rhythms and ways of inhabiting the space.
Conference and Retreat
Conference and Retreat at Chapter Seventeen offers the potential to meet and converse with others during a stay of a week or two, which may overlap with other residents.

At different times, Conference and Retreat may be unavailable for general residency while we host a particular gathering, practitioner, conference or retreat, allowing a group to have its own experience of the space.

Members may sometimes be invited into particular sessions during these periods, while other gatherings may belong entirely to their resident group.
Practitioner Residencies
Members with expertise or interest in a related area — theological, artistic, philosophical, therapeutic or pastoral — may apply for a four- or eight-week residency in one of the studios.

These residencies may also become opportunities for collaborative work within Chapter Seventeen: developing a workshop, course, retreat or other experience in collaboration with Sarah.

Residents may have limited availability for interaction with others staying at Chapter Seventeen, whether in the Treehouse or Conference and Retreat.
Â
In some cases, a residency may also lead to a permanent Forest Connections link: a Chapter Seventeen page hosted on the resident's own site, connected back to Chapter Seventeen.
