Why God said don’t count. (In words of one bounce)

In 2 Sam and 1 Chron,

the king thought, ha!

More men?

More - good!

God said no.

All good.

Each good.

So don’t count them.

Please.

Yet the king said, count.

He felt good.

But then his friend said,

Wait, what?

The king said, COUNT!

His friend knew God.

So did the king.

(The friend did not count all of them.)

((Good friend!))

Still.

The big count showed the king how good he was.

Or so he thought!

But the big count, was just for the king to feel good. Yup. Just that.

Why?

Well.

When you are the king, you can feel bad a lot, I think.

You think there are kings here

and kings there

with more men.

More likes. More votes.

And more and more oomph.

More foom (as they say now).

More clout.

More gold.

But the king knew deep down that all the oomph and all the foom is God’s.

Oh, and the clout.

And while we’re there, all the gold too.

So if God says no,

and if God says this is all a gift, and just for now,

then to claim it shows

the king is good

is —

theft. Lies.

Moof.

Hpmoo.

(Take the words back, king.)

(You did not count on God did you?)

This is like us too.

Yes?

No?

We all search for more.

As if He is not — all.

Hmm.
